Servings: 8-10 Biscuits
5 minutes prep
15-20 min to bake
Tips & Tricks:
Wicks - You can purchase wicks online, I will post a link on my Amazon Favorites or you can make your own wicks by:
cutting butcher twine to your desired length
boil salt in wanter to dissolve & then remove from hear & let twine soak for 15-20 minutes
Let dry overnight or dry on low for 1 hr in the oven on parchment paper
Ingredients
Wax
wick (see note below)
dryer lint
cupcake liners
Dried Items all optional Mix & match
Cinnamon Sticks
Dried Oranges
Dried Lemons or Limes
Star of Anise Pods
Dried Rosemary
Dried Twigs & Branches
Dried Bay Leaves
Whole Cloves
Pine Cone
Shredded Paper
Much more
For your wax you can purchase bees wax or you can use wax from old candles. Quanitiy will depend on how many you wish to make. Each cupcake will use about 30-40 grams of wax
Melt wax down in a small crockpot, double broiler on the oven or in the microwave. Depending on what you have for your resources
While wax is melting line your cupcake pan with liners & place dryer lint in the bottom of each with your wick. I like to place the dryer lint on bottom because it is not as “pretty” and then add all my dried items to the top.
After wax has melted fill each cupcake liner about 1/2 full with wax and let cool slightly
After wax has semi hardened place all your dried items on top, cinnamon sicks, pine cones, shredded papers etc. anything your heart desires, lots of options listed to the side and many more that you could come up with too!
after you have everything aranged and placed fill your liners up the rest of the way leaving just a little space right at the edge so it does not spill over to the metal part of the cupcake pan (then it is a mes to clean up)
If you are making these in the cooler months set them outside to harden and solidify for about 30 minutes. If you are preparing ahead in the summer months leave on the counter or refrigerator to harden.
Light and enjoy a clean burn without all the toxic chemicals of fire starters!!!
